Coconut is one of the export crops in Sri Lanka. It has been recorded that 3,000 Million coconuts are produced annually in Sri Lanka. Nearly 80% of production is used for domestic consumption and only 20% is used for value addition. Coconut tree is named as ‘KAPRUKA’ because each and every part of tree has a commercial value for different applications.
