This profile envisages the establishment of a plant for the production of Rice pasta (macaroni) with a
capacity of 720 Metric tons per annum. Pasta and macaroni are food products made by extruding and
drying unleavened dough of rice flour. The country`s requirement of wheat based pasta and macaroni
is met through local production and import. In Sri Lanka there is considerable demand for pasta
especially in urban areas. This project aims to produce rice based Pasta for the export market. Further,
there are many opportunities to sell for the local market too.
